Top 10 Lush Products

Hello! Lush has been my number One place to get bath things from, for quite the while. I feel I have been a fan for long enough to have tried a fairly large selection of things. I can't deny it, Lush is best at Christmas, so I shall begin by taunting you with my Christmas faves, then we shall segue nicely into year round products!

Christmas things
1.  Magic Wand bubble bar
This has a lush typical sweet scent the same as Snow Fairy, and it fills my bath with lots of lovely bubbles, with a sprinkling of magic.

2. Cinders bath bomb
*fun fact alert* this was the first product someone ever got me from lush, so it has probably an unnecessary sentimental value. This has my favourite spicey scent, I'm sure there's a bit of cinnamon involved.

3. Golden Wonder bath bomb
This one is a little mischievous, it has a surprise on the inside, the water doesn't go the golden colour you might expect.. ooh, ooooh. Also if you give it a little shake, you will hear a little something shake inside.

4. Snow fairy shower gel
I got this in the Boxing Day sale, and I am using it sparingly mixing it in with other shower gels. I love the sweet smell, and it cleans the body. Well worth the hype this one gets.

5. Starlight, Starbright bath melt
If your new to lush a Bath Melt's purpose generally is to make your skin feel lovely and soft. And this one does that

6.Butter ball bath bomb
Butterball could be my ultimate Lush product, it looks unsuspecting of greatness. The cocoa butter is highly moisturising for dry skin. I must remember to get this next time I head in.

7. Bubblegum lip scrub

I know you can easily make your own sugar lip scrub... but this one smells so yummyy and does the job, often it is hard to avoid!! Also if you accidentally eat it, its very tasty and I'm pretty sure it won't do you any harm...
8. Comforter bubble bar
Its bright pink, it makes bubbles, what is there not to like people?!

9. The Godmother soap
This is my current soap which I am using. I always find Lush soaps last for so so long, I'm currently wondering whether I will ever run out it... I'm 99% positive it's scent is the same as Snow Fairy, so if you are needing your Snow Fairy fix, run and get it.
10. Honey I washed the kids soap
Like the previous soap it lasts for a good time. If you need moisturisation from your soap I find this leaves my hands nice and soft. It also has a more gentle scent than some Lush soaps.

Marston Marshes

Hello! With the weather beginning to get nicer again, like every Brit I'm rediscovering a world outside my Four walls, in which I have been confined for the long winter months.

One day last week I took my camera on One of these adventures. This adventures was to Marston Marshes, which is always lovely, although I feel I was lacking in the dog department #catownerproblems

When you first enter you walk along the path adjacent the stream up towards the main river and wooded area.

I can't wait until summer, when the trees are green and no longer bare.
A perfect photo opportunity, who could disagree?
One of the many little streams/ dykes.

The exit and entrance to the water for four legged beings and humans, but in the warmer months, unless they are cray to the cray.
Beautiful blossom, a sigh that winter is moving behind us.

Hardly a cloud in the sky.

I hope you enjoyed looking around a local, typically English beauty spot, hidden away, a stones throw away from the city.

10 Things I want to do this Summer

Hello! I know its not quite summer yet, but May is rather soon and that's sorta summer right?! I've had a massive spring clean of my room, I even tidied up under my bed which gets used as a dumping ground. Its logical to think about summer now... so lets do it.

1. I want to go on the London Canal Walk, Lily Pebbles recently did this in one of her vlogs, and it looked such a good way to see different areas of London.
2. Spontaneous road trip
3. Go to Brighton, I want to explore those lanes, see the sunset on the pier and walk by those adorable beach huts.
4. Last year I didn't go to Sheringham, and quite simply that has to be fixed.
5.Visit the Theatre Cafe in London
6. Have a picnic, Strawberries, Wine, and Pimms must be involved.
7. Go to West End Live
8. Sell clothes on Ebay/take stuff to charity shops.
9. See another musical in the Westend
10. Radio 1's Big Weekend (I know this will happen because I has a ticket woo!)

Do you have any summer plans?

Fitness Begins Now

Hello! Last week in my 'April Haul' I included Two fitness/gym items, so this post follows on beautifully, coincidence, I think not. I am currently trying to sort out a fitness routine, because to be totally honest in the last few months I have been a slob and letting my inner fat kid decide what I should be eating. Bad Idea. My inner fat kid is also repulsed by the idea of exercise.. the inevitable happened.

Current 'Routine'
  • To go to the gym 2-3 times a week
  • On off days at least do Yoga
  • Begin Stretching again.

That's what I am currently doing/trying to do. However I would like to include.. a personal trainer, a group fitness class (BodyPump/Zumba), possibly swimming a couple of times a month and finally biking to work instead of taking the bus.

Why am I doing this? I want to slim down (I can't fit into my fave jeans), but mainly to increase fitness. In September I will be doing Dance at Uni, so I high fitness levels are necessary! I don't want to be the one out of breath and nor do I want to be one of the 'bigger' people in the class.

...Now to actually exercise!

April Haul | Tiger, Ebay, Gym

Hello! I felt really rather spendy after payday and spendy I was, so now I'm on a spending ban, allowing myself only to pay to get to and from work, because you know what..?? A healthy bank account isn't a bad thing!

Enough about being sensible with money lets get into that haul.

The weather has been shockingly nice for the past few days in England, so it means my optimistically bought Sunglasses from Tiger, were well worth the purchase. They only cost £4, and come in a variety of styles, rayban esque, cat eye, aviators... lets be honest I want some more. I do love sunglasses. I went for some which are Rayban esque (dupe here ladies and gentlemen) and for these John Lennon ones.

 Hippie Trousers
These are going to be amazing to wear either on cooler summer days or in the evenings, they go with most of the items in my March Haul, the pattern is what some may call fun, but the best bit THE COMFORT is real.

Finally. . .

Fitness bits, I'm going to be brief as I will be writing a whole post about this. But I'm starting to seriously workout, and I needed a few bits... so I popped down to Sports Direct so I wouldn't be breaking the bank, this stuff ain't cheap.

Top 5 Showtunes

Hello! I saw on the Whats On Stage website this post, so I thought I would do it myself, lord knows how but here goes! In no particular order.

1. Defying Gravity from Wicked. I feel like this is a bit of a cop out, because Wicked is so immensely popular. But I will not forget seeing Defy Gravity live on stage, spine tingling, stunning.

2. America from West Side Story. Please note I prefer the film version of the song. I love the banter between the girls and guys throughout the song. This also contains my favourite dance from a musical its such an iconic dance

3. I'm Still Hurting from The Last Five Years. I'm not a massive Jason Robert Brown fan, but I really love this song. I like the build ups in this song and the instrumental sections. Also this is a song I love to sing, as it sits so comfortably in my vocal range.

4. Take Me or Leave Me from Rent. If I want to listen to one song from the Rent soundtrack, this song is so feisty (lol at the use of that word), but its two strong female women. Idina Menzel is involved.

5. The Big Doll House from Hairspray. I love Hairspray point 1. In the musical I feel this is an unexpected number I like the jazzy, almost sleezy feel of the introduction. Its funny. Its a good song. A mixture of Chicago and Whipped Into Shape as well.

There are just so many other songs I could've chosen, but right now at this instance these are my favourites.

20's Bucket List

Hello, I turned 20 way back in September now and since then I've been putting together a list of things I'd like to do in my 20's with varying levels of realistic possibility.

Is there anything I've missed?

1. Have a blonde long haired Miniature Dachshund
2. Buy my own car
3. Go to Disney World
4. Start to learn the piano again
5. Go to Australia
6. Volunteer at an animal sanctuary
7.Move Out
8. Go on the London Eye at night
9.Attend a make up course
10. Visit a chocolate factory
11. Own a designer bag
12. Attend a French Cookery School
13. Be a bridesmaid
14. Travel around Europe
15. Get a Degree
16. Rent a beach house for the whole summer
17. Have a school reunion
18. Go to New York
19. Ride in a hot air balloon
20. Make a family tree

As you can see many of these are travel based, I've been stuck in the UK mainly sticking to Norfolk for now over 20 years, and I am itching to leave, see the world. If I don't, I'm not sure I will be able to live with myself.

April Wishlist

Hello! Happy Easter to those who celebrate it. Easter is a festival and holiday celebrating the resurrection of Christ. Easter and Spring are symbols of new beginnings with baby animals (my faves being the lambs bouncing around in the fields) and flowers - daffodils, tulips, snowdrops, iris' and crocus' to name a couple. This spring I am thinking about getting my Butt into gear and sorting my fitness out, over the first few months I have been an utter slob sitting around and eating. To kickstart my motivation I've been looking at gym wear, trainers and what not!

I think I know where this months pay will be spent...

What Fashion Bloggers Really Wear

Hello! Fashion blogs can be hugely inspirational for style whether its what to wear for work, school, nights out, whatever really. I just thought I could put together some really nice outfits for you, because I don't think I post enough outfit posts, I hope I can give you some inspiration.

The Making Toast Outfit
Making toast is a vital part of my morning, in order to make the perfect toast I feel it is important to be comfortable, so you can make sure you get the right level of toastness, breadiness and definitely not burntness. Also toppings such as Jam can be messy, in order to show what a careful person you are, its always best to wear white.

The Running to the shop Outfit

No one enjoys running out of milk when they want to make their tea, but shit happens. For this occasion I want to put on a 'please don't notice me outfit' as a fashion blogger I often get stopped  and asked where I got my whole outfit from, but on these occasions I just want to blend into the crowd, because you know I need me some milk.

The Netflix Binge Outfit

Everyone loves a good netflix binge, these can last for hours/days/weeks, copious amounts of food may be consumed. However you don't have time to exercise, so you might increase in size, to counteract this I always wear a onesie because they are comfortable and spacious. My top tip is to find the most ridiculous one and wear it, then people will never notice you've gone from a size 8 to an 18, from rewatching all 236 episodes of Friends.

*Sidenote* How cute is my cat OMG.

The I'm going to be Youtube Famous Outfit

For my final outfit I want to show you today, is for when I want to achieve more. Fashion blogging is great and just so inspiring, sometimes I even inspire myself, because I am that inspiring. Filming can sometimes take hours, so I need to be comfortable. On my bottom half I always wear pj bottoms - despite the fact I actually sleep in pj shorts - However on my top half I need to look beautiful for the camera, after all I am competing for viewers with Zoella, watch out Zoe I'm coming for you, And all those paid for videos and ads, see you on I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here very soon.

Confidence to Perform | Thoughts

Hello! Todays post comes under the 'Thoughts' series/category, today is about performing.

As you may know I played Cinderella in panto over Christmas. Comments I get about being a 'performer' include - 'How do you have the confidence to to do that', 'Oh I don't think I could do that'.

It simply gets me thinking why not?

When you think of people who perform, you think of show offs and brash personalities. I have met those people yes, but there are also different types of people, there's a wide variety of people who perform. I asked three of my fellow performers, to write 3 sentences on what gives them confidence, and you can see 3 completely different viewpoints, because you know what, its all down to the person.

Other people's viewpoint
Grace - The English Undergrad
'It sounds cliché, but I get the confidence to perform from the freedom of being on stage. You can be anyone and can do anything and not have to worry about how you are supposed to act or feel as your 'normal' self. I like the fact that for me, it's unexpected - people don't think I would want to perform and stepping so far beyond the bounds of expectations gives me confidence because there are no rules to follow there.'

Rosie- The Drama Student
'1. Knowing that everyone in the audience is there for a purpose, whether that purpose is to see me perform or to see my character be performed or see the production be performed, whatever!
(Lol not a sentence ^)
Number 2. Knowing I'm actually pretty good at performing. Once you BELIEVE in yourself, you know you can do it ()
Number 3. It's a lot of fun performing. So knowing I'm gunna have fun doing it, gives me the confidence to get up and out on a good show!'

Amy- The Teacher

'1: When my family/friends come to watch.
2: Personally: knowing that this was something I was never supposed to do again because of my condition/illness.
3: Being on stage with friends/family.'

My view point
I am not really shy, but nor do I think I'm the most 'out there' person, I take a while to warm to new people and always try to avoid ordering first at a restaurant. So what makes me able to go up on stage and perform? One thing, I'm playing a character and almost hidden behind/within that character, and they are just living their life, there is no audience, if you are thinking 'OMG there are loads of people watching me' in my mind you are not in character. Furthermore performing is something I've just done, since my first panto aged 8 on the Norwich Theatre Royal Stage, for me there is an element of being used to it. Being confident, doesn't mean you don't suffer from nerves, running up to a performance I'm worried I will go flat, miss a line or a page of script, end up in the wrong position in the dance - its part and parcel of live performances, you can do nought about it.

What are your thoughts?

March Favourites

Hello! I literally cannot believe it is April, and its Easter on SUNDAY woo! But first its time to look back on March and my favourite things from it, because in the blogging world that's what you do right?!

Yankee Candle in Lake Sunset

I don't know how to describe the scent of this, and judging by their website neither do Yankee Candle they say 'The serene beauty of the sun's golden rays as they dip into still blue waters, calling to mind the musky descent of nightfall'. It isn't sickly sweet, woody or floral. Its a fresh scent, not citrusey, all I can think of to describe it is like some kind of body lotion. If you can give this a sniff, do. I can't get enough of it, when I'm sat in my room listening to music or reading my book, the rain pouring outside.

Pretty Little Liars
March was the month where I binge watched 5 whole series of PLL (feeling slightly ashamed over here). This programme is definitely hyped up on this thing called the internet. Rather than epically fail at describing it, I'm going to cheekily copy and paste from wikipedia (altho you probably know anywho) 'Set in the fictional town of Rosewood, Pennsylvania, the series follows the lives of four girls, Aria MontgomeryHanna MarinEmily Fields, and Spencer Hastings, whose clique falls apart after the disappearance of their leader, Alison DiLaurentis. One year later, the estranged friends are reunited as they begin receiving messages from a mysterious figure named "A", who threatens to expose their deepest secrets, including ones they thought only Alison knew. At first, they think it's Alison herself, but after her body is found, the girls realize that someone else is planning on ruining their perfect lives.' I have also developed a slight girl crush on Lucy Hale (Aria), them eyebrows though.

The Kimono

This beautiful kimono was featured in my 'March Haul' post, I will find pretty much any excuse to wear it. Which mostly seems to be at work, where it has been complimented and I will tell you this, people are very surprised it came from Primark. LOVE LOVE LOVE

Vegetable Crisps

These used to be really difficult to find, originally I tried them on a whim in Pret, and I was hooked indefinitely, however they were a nightmare to find in supermarkets. But now they seem to be popping up, SCORE. They are super tasty, and you can kid yourself you're being really healthy, cuz vegetable.

12 Books 12 Months - Billy and Me by Giovanna Fletcher
I love watching Gi's vlogs on youtube which seems a silly reason to read a book, however looking at reviews I knew I wanted to read one of her books and after a visit to my library I decided on Billy and Me. I could've easily read this book in less than a week if I wanted. It was thoroughly enjoyable to read, I will be picking up another of her books. I liked that it looked at relationships in the public eye from the inside, and how the media puts pressure on couples and creates stories which aren't true about them, which is the main theme in this book. I would highly recommend.

This month's book is The Great Gatsby by F Scott. Fitzgerald. I haven't watched the film, so am going in blind, only knowing its based in the 20's a time of great prosperity in New York. It is my first 'older' book out of my little challenge, which will be a change.
