Oscars Make Up

Hello! Tomorrow is Hollywood's most glamorous night of the year, so I thought I would have a go at a Oscar's appropriate make up look.

I decided to go for a classic look, hair swept to one side and curled. A Red lip, Rimmels 107 and a fairly subtle smokey eye do the focus was entirely on the lips. Of course this isn't just a look for the oscars, you could always wear it when going out in the evening. To tone it down for an 'everyday' look switch out the bold lip for a nude, like Mehr from Mac

Keep scrolling to see what I used and how I applied everything.

The Rundown

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette (Strange, Limit, Darkside)
Sleek Vintage Romance Palette (Antique Gold shade)
Maybelline Gel Eye Liner
Nars Sheer Glow Foundation  in Mount Blanc
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette in Streak
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Translucent
Rimmel Kate Lipstick in 107

I did a video on this look, so you can see the whole process. 'Oscars Make Up'.

Films to cheer you up!

Hello, I'm by no means a film buff, however I do have some films I always turn to when I'm feeling a little down.

Sometimes all that can help is a big pile of cheese and a side of Abba music to get you out of a funk a return you to the dancing queen. Then all you need to turn on is 'Mamma Mia'.
A film that brings me joy is 'Julie and Julia'. With Meryl Streep playing the bouncy and joyous Julia Child, how are you to remain in a grump?! At the very least you will be inspired to knock something up in the kitchen.

Another foodie film I turn to is 'Eat, Pray, Love' it is up there as one of my favourite films. I always feel so inspired and uplifted when I finish watching this film.
Next I have 'It's Complicated' another Meryl number, in my opinion you can never go wrong with Meryl. If you like awkward moments this film is for you, John Krasinski's character Harley cracks me up.

Finally we have to have a bit of Disney. For me I turn to Frozen. Don't need to explain this one, because you've all watched it!

Make Up Wishlist

Hello! As you probably know, I watch a lot of beauty YouTubes, which means one thing : I WANT ALL THE MAKE UP! However I do not have the budget to make this a reality. When I get a job however I want to treat myself to a couple of things, by no means NOT everything I am about to mention, because that would be totally and utterly frivolous!

*WARNING V EXTENSIVE*

Firstly I have my eyeballs on both the Gwen Stefani Blush and Eyeshadow Palette from Urban Decay. I've tried both face powders and eyeshadows from UD previously and they are such great quality. Looking at both palettes I would get lots of use out of both of them.

So I lost my Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Glastonberry and I am gutted, so I need to replace that asap. Also if I could I would get the shades Bond Girl and Birkin Brown. Aside from the matte lipsticks I would also like the Film Star Bronze and Glow.

Grace a heads up for you! I have some US goodies on my wishlist. Please. Top of my list is tg Kat Von Dee Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bow 'n' Arrow it literally looks like the perfect nude but not overly nude colour. Also the Anastasia Brow Wiz in Medium Ash as I remember Estee Lalonde talking it about. Finally the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed another well talked about product.

Finally the Kylie Lip Kits, I tried to pretend I wasn't interested, I tried. But when Lily Melrose upload the a video with her review and swatches I was suckered in. Now I am following 'Kylie's lip kits' on all social media. I'm excited for the reveal of new colours but I really would like Dolce K and True Brown.

*Phew* my extensive wishlist is now complete, I'm not going to add it all up money wise as I'm sure I would have heart failure! I better get a good job haha!

Hot Drinks Collection

Hello! When I was younger I told my mum "I will only drink tea when i'm old, because its for old people", fast forward to now, I must be old, because I am the chief tea drinker in my house!

I gathered my wares up in this basket, turns out I pretty much filled said basket but this is the overview. It not too many varieties but more than my parents are happy with in the kitchen!

Firstly tea bag tea
English Breakfast tea is a classic, I share this with my dad, not sure he appreciates this. When I wake up and I need a little bit of caffeine this is what I will go for. With a sweetex and not too much milk. For those morning when I am feeling super healthy and motivated I whip out the green tea. I used to be mad on this, however now its down to a few cups a week max.

Next we have the loose leaf tea...
Admittedly these are pretty similar. First we have Tea Bird tea company's Pumpkin Spice Chai, which I got when I went to Brighton and bought on Zoella's recommendation. I also have the Christmas Tea from Whittards of Chelsea - which I should save for the next festive period. I go towards these in the evening because of the warm spicy flavours.

Finally lattes and hot chocolate!
One thing I am totally obsessed with is Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate I have the Options one. Its super tasty - however they have put too much in the sachets, there is lots of stirring required and you always get a deposit at the bottom. An oldy but a good is my Drink Me Chai, I have had this for years and it will always be in my kitchen! Trader Joes Pumpkin Spice Chai featured in my January favourites so its clear how I feel about that.

ASOS Polo Neck - Queen of Naps

Hello, today I'm showing you one of my favourite recent outfits. This is one way in which I style my Queen of Naps sweat shirt which was featured in my last post.

This is a super casual outfit, but yet I think its quite cool with the ripped jeans and my mono white converse.

My coat is easily my favourite element of this outfit. I'd been wanting the perfect parka for ever. This one is from Topshop and unfortunately is not available online anymore, but they might still have it on  sale rails. I love the massive fur lined hood, I feel like I'm walking round in a sleeping bag and its fabulous.

January Favourites

Hello! I'm posting this a little on the late side, I feel like I've done quite a few 'look back' posts in January. I've linked what I can if your like the look of anything ☺️

My beauty favourite for this month is the Sephora Matte lip cream in 01. When people like Amelia Liana started taking about it I was immediately sold, and had it on the mental beauty wish list in my head. Finally I got my hands on it when Grace returned from the motherland of Sephora (USA). I talked about this in my lipstick collection, here.

Fashion favourite of the month has to be my 'Queen of Naps' sweatshirt. It's perfect to wear when you want to be comfy, but still look relatively stylish.

Accessory wise its my pineapple Skinny Dip phone case, cliche as hell, but look how cute it is! I totally didn't get this pink iPhone because I knew it would look nice with this case...

My music favourite is the 'This Girl Can' playlist on Spotify, which was put together by Pippa Hamilton. Which I have been using whilst I'm at the gym it has a huge range of styles and is perfect to keep me going.

DVD favourite is Michael McIntyre's 'Happy and Glorious'. He has been my favourite comedian for years and never ceases to make me laugh.

The book I'd been reading in January was 'The Woman in the Picture' by Katherine McMahon. Its about Evelyn a lawyer in London during the 1920's. Its one of the best books I have rest in the past few months.

My final favourite was Trader Joe's Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte. When I unwrapped this at Christmas I was so excited, I immediately put on the kettle. Its well known I'm a big fan of the PSL, for the time being I can have it all year round.

And that's it! Thanks for popping by!

Nike Frees and Fitness Update

Hello! Yes you are correct this is one of those start of the year fitness posts! ...

...I haven't done a fitness post since MAY oops..

One of my recent incentives to work out are my new Nike Frees. They are super light weight and despite their look they are very supportive.

Wednesday, Friday and Sunday are my gym days.  Back in October I met with a trainer to put together a programme focussing on my core. I literally have no core strength, its embarrassing. Long story short, I kinda didn't go to the gym. Oops.

A few months later, I'm back in the Fitness game. Now to talk you through me programme!

(My skin is so white haha)

I begin with squats, because everyone wants a Kardashian arse.

Following this I go into the 'Fly Plank'.

Then into press ups, the "girl" sort as my core is not ready to go full out! At the gym I do these with a 'workout dome'

Next I go into a straight up plank.

Then the hardest exercise, Plank Arms, where you go up and down on and off your forearms.

Then I finish it with Plank Legs, kinda basically mountain climbers.

I repeat all the exercises for 30 seconds and do 3 circuits. I know its not impressive, but its a start.
