90's Inspired | Outfit

Hello! I haven't posted an outfit post in so long, here's one of my favourite outfits from recent weeks.

The vocal point of this outfit has to be the skirt, which has previously featured in a summer outfit post. I love the fact it transitions easily for all seasons, I think that is because of the thick nature of the material. I really like the almost fluorescent flashes of pink on the skirt, along with the darker panels on the side which I feel makes it a really unique item in my wardrobe, and makes it look more expensive than your average skirt from Topshop.
For me the 90's aspects come from the choker, the cropped top and my trusty docs. Also MAC Soar lipstick.

Are you still rocking the 90s trend, or are you over it and thinking should be left in the 20th century?

Spring Seaside Walk

Hello! Winter for me always seems never ending, the bitter cold, grey skies and leafless trees. Then one day we get a glimpse of spring and summer. On this day I headed to the beach, as being cooped up inside would have been a waste of a day.

March Haul | Primark, Ebay

March Book: Billy and Me by Giovanna Fletcher Page Number: 207

Hello! My shopping brain seems to be firmly planted in June, despite it being March, so things are definitely catered to warmer weather.

Let's start with Primark

This picture is of two items, the first is a white tank top, its a lovely soft semi sheer material, perfect for hot days. I bought it a couple of sizes to bigger so it would have a loose fit. Then I wanted to wear it with a little crop top underneath. Tank Top £4 Crop Top £1.50

For me this S/S a tassled waist coat situation was high on my list. This would lovely over a cute dress or even just a simple jeans and tee outfit. I'm really excited to style this. £12

I think this might be my favourite Primark purchase, its a GORGEOUS black lace kimono, ahblwvel its so nice. Like the previous item it would be nice to chuck on over a simple outfit, and it will also be gorgeous as a summer evening item. £8

Ebay, I got through phases with Ebay of buying stuff and then nothing at all for ages.

Crochet is plastered all over the high street at the moment, so you know, I kinda had to purchase something. This top is actually really cool, depending on what light you're in, it looks different colours. Its a cream fading into a muted neon yellow type colour. This colour then looks different intensities. Which turned out to be damn difficult to photograph!

I've been wanting an anatomical heart necklace for such a long time, but they can be really expensive. However I found this one on Ebay for 49p!!! yes 49p, the chain is obviously very cheap. At some point I will buy a chain which is nicer, but for now I am very happy.

What do you think of my purchases?

2 Sugar Free Snacks

March Book: Billy and Me by Giovanna Fletcher Page Number: 197

Hello, this post seems ironic since my last post, was basically I failed at giving up Refined Sugar for Lent. Despite my failure, I have had two snacks which I have been loving, one definitely more than the other.

Firstly fruit with yoghurt, this is sugar free greek yoghurt. Strawberries and cream has been one of my favourite things for a long while, but this is a healthier but still tasty version. A few raspberries also chucked in to!

Secondly, my new favourite snack. I actually really crave this, quite badly. Its peanut butter and banana on toast, my Mum has never tried this, or thought to try this - what!!!???
Why do I like it so much, I love the consistency as the Peanut Butter melts on the bread fresh from the toaster... which is complimented by the banana. YUM. Doesn't look special but, its a sensory indulgence.

Refined Sugar Free Diet | Update

March Book: Billy and Me by Giovanna Fletcher Page Number: 132

Hello! A refined sugar free diet is NOT easy.

Sugar is a huge part of our diets in the Western World especially, once a difficult to get hold of commodity, its everywhere and in many things. Giving up refined sugar was my Lent. I am ashamed to say I broke it, mainly due to audition stress and the need to get quick easy food whilst travelling about. It was also due to mindlessness, saying yes to ice cream and then eating anyway, thinking 'it won't matter this one time'.

That's the not so good part, but it did force me to eat healthily. Over these past few weeks, I don't think I've ever eaten so much fruit in my life, especially bananas! Bananas are so versatile, I went through multiple ones in a day, in my porridge in the morning, with peanut butter on toast and in my Sugar Free Banana Bread

Moving on from this point, of what could be deemed failure, I am going to simply lower the amount of refined sugar in my diet. Going five days of the week without it, but I'm not going to cry about it if I do have an odd piece of cake here and there. Life is to short, not to enjoy it.

March Wishlist

March Book: Billy and Me by Giovanna Fletcher Page Number:100

Hello! We've been in March for a little while now, as I do every month its time for my wishlist, this month definitely has a distinctively more spring like feel, which it should do really, winter *fingers crossed* is moving around us. Despite loving winter clothing with all the different layers and textures, I want to be able to walk around outside without feeling cold.

1. How stunning is the skirt? Its ugh divine in its beauty, I can't stop thinking about this skirt. BEAUTIFUL.
2. As a Brit one must always be prepared for the weather, this would be perfect for those inevitable drizzly days, keeping my perfectly dry and brightening up the day all at once. However I'm not sure about yellow and blonde hair you get me?
3. The print on these joggers drew my eye to these initially, its very pretty and would easily slot in to my wardrobe and are a good price as well.
4. I can see this just being a staple for the whole of spring/summer and come in lots of lovely colours.

Piercing Inspiration | Pinterest

March Book: ?? Page Number: ??

Hello! I have been saying I am going to get more piercings for quite a now going on a year, but for one reason or another I haven't got round to doing so, but this is the year. At the top of my list are my seconds on both ears and a tragus on one side, haven't decided which yet. I'll see where this takes me. Over the time I have been wanting more piercings I have turned to my friend Pinterest for inspiration. Here's what I like the look of.

(If you don't like ears, look away)

I think what we can quickly conclude from this is that I prefer daintier earrings, which is probably suited to my teeny tiny ears.

February Favourites

Hello! It's March already, so that means its monthly favourite time. Over February I really felt like I struggled with content, but after a month of humming about what to blog about, I think I'm back on track.

Suits

I know full well this was in last month's favourites, but I am seriously addicted to this programme, its fast paced, you don't have to wait a full episode for something to happen. I love so many of the characters Harvey, Mike, Donna, Rachel and Louis. Season 4 is my favourite yet, literally every episode I am on the edge of my seat, praying that everything works out. I shouldn't admit this on the internet but I took a quiz to see what character I would be, and I got Harvey, it was a great moment. You know who you are who got me into this programme, thank you. My sanity doesn't thank you as much.

Katy Perry - The Music and Movie
In a moment of boredom I decided I would watch the Katy Perry Movie on Netflix, I didn't know what this was going to be like. I quickly got into it and ended up enjoying it. Before I knew it the film was over, and I was putting her albums onto my Spotify. My favourite album has to be between Teenage Dream and Prism, I can't choose between them. Yes I'm a bit late to the Katy Perry train, but I am sure glad to be on it! #KatyCat Now I really want fun coloured hair as well...

The Theory of Everything Soundtrack

I haven't watched this film yet, despite the fact I really want to. For some reason I decided I wanted to listen to the soundtrack, the score is just beautiful. I like to have it just playing in the background, if I'm baking, reading or blogging. It just instantly puts me in a good mood and calms me down, so I can just focus on whatever I am doing.

The Gold Ring

Some people are the sort of people who wear the some of the same items of jewellery everyday and I have always admired them. I've had this gold ring that was my mother's for some time now, its pretty and simple. Perfect for everyday wear, I can be that person, I mean I have been for the last month!

12 Books 12 Months - Not That Kind of Girl by Lena Dunham

*i gave this book to Haz to borrow before I pictured it, oops*
Prior to this book I hadn't really read books that weren't a linear story, so this was totally out of my comfort zone for reading. Yes I enjoyed this book, but because of the nature of the book it is definitely a book you can leave for a bit and come back to at a later point. I don't know if I came away from this book having learnt much, but more reaffirmed what I already thought, that if you're trying to do something that isn't you its not going to necessarily workout, but if you don't try you won't know that for sure. There is no way this is a 100% a serious book, reading it, its simply not Lena's personality. Whilst in a section Lena has finished university, is single, and jobless she is talking to her friend about her situation and comes to the conclusion "I can't find a goddamn fucking job and I'm too fat to become a stripper". In another section Lena tells us about the fact morality is always on her mind, from a young age, a topic which simply isn't discussed in our society she writes 'I'm too much of a loner for death, but I'm also scared of being lonely. Where does that leave me?' This struck a chord with me, and I'm sure it will other readers.
