Lush Haul December 2014

Hello! Its time for my Lush Christmas Sale Haul (last year's here). This year I went to my local Lush store rather than ordering online. Arriving 10 minutes before the shop opened there was an unexpectedly long queue which I couldn't entirely believe I was waiting in. Despite being rather cramped when they opened the door, there was a good atmosphere people passing each other products which they couldn't get to and complete strangers talking to each other. Next year I will go again. Onto my haul...

Snow Fairy - Last year I missed this in the sale, so this year I was determined to get it. If you don't like super sweet scents this bubble gum scented product is not for you.
Luxury Lush Pud - This beast has always been tempting to me. It has a sweet but slightly citrus scent, but is definitely one of the most fun products that lush has to offer over the Christmas period.
The Melting Snowman - This a bath melt, and has a more almondy and less sweet scent which I am very excited to use.
Cinders - This bath bomb seems very appropriate for this year as I am playing Cinders and panto. This has a more spicy Christmas scent reminding me of cinnamon and that kinda thing.
Butterbear - This is the Christmas version of Butterball, one of my all time faves, this has a more subtle scent, and will leave your skin feeling amazing.
This is the Christmas Hedgehog mine seems rather beaten up, so I had to get him. I'm not entirely sure of the scent, but its another fairly sweet one.
Magic Wand Bubble Bar - This has the same sweet scent as Snow Fairy and they're so good I bought two. OOPS.
Candy Mountain - Smells how you would expect something with the name Candy Mountain.

I have bought mainly Bubble Bars as I feel they have the best value and they last a long time.

Christmas Day

Hello! I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas with your families. Whilst you are reading this I am getting ready for the final dress rehearsal for Cinderella, before the opening show at 2.30. Since for Christmas I got a new camera I thought I would share some of the pictures I took. For those interested its a Canon PowerShot SX510 HS, which is a light weight bridge camera. When I've had it for a bit longer I may well do a little review on it.

The Topshop Jumpsuit | Day

Hello! On Friday I shared my outfit I wore for the Christmas Ball I attended. Although this is definitely a piece which lends itself to the night time out. But putting it with the different things, makes it totally wearable in the day. I switched out my black heels for my Nike Internationalist trainers. Popped a cropped jumper on and my new favourite bobble hat. To further this you could chuck on an oversized denim jacket and a cosy scarf. Here's how it looked together!

The Topshop Jumpsuit | Evening

Hello! Featured in my last 'Haul' post was this gorgeous jumpsuit which I got in the Topshop Black Friday Sale, I think it is available in some stores, but not online anymore. I bought it with the intention to wear for a Christmas Ball, as an alternative for a long, potentially annoying dress.

This outfit was definitely complemented, lots which is always great. And it was a bit of a conversation starter, which is always good news if you don't know people at an event too much.
As you can see free movement. Also an elasticated waist perfect for the Christmas Dinner we had.
For winter reasons my big fluffy coat was a necessity, as I would've never left my warm cosy car!

Sitting here writing this post, I am listening to my Spotify Christmas playlist and the excitement is real :D

Festive Baking

Hello! On Monday I was talking Christmas Songs, today I am talking Festive Baking, for me baking is a massive part of Christmas so I thought it was only right to share what I have been cooking up.

Gingerbread Biscuits
For me Gingerbread is quint essentially festive, I always use the recipe from the Great British Bake Off Showstoppers Book, and it is always successful. One word of advice if you like a 'biscuity' texture cook it for the recommended times, if your like more of a cookie texture cook them for less time. The recipe is quite simple I went for some basic shapes a Christmas Trees, Presents and Hearts. However I also decided to create an edible version of Lush's Melted snowman, which I think was rather effective using as marshmallow for the head and chocolate chips for the eyes and buttons.

Gingerbread Latte Cupcakes
First I made Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes, now I have made Gingerbread Latte Cupcakes, you could say I am inspired by those Starbucks Drinks, and why yes I am! I made these for a party and they went down a treat and was something people had never really tried before. They were super easy to make and very tasty, much like their Starbucks counter parts.

Chocolate Orange Brownie
As a Christmas Tradition each year we buy my Dad a chocolate orange. Clearly the most obvious thing to do is make them in Brownie form... Am I right? And so the Chocolate Orange Brownie was born. Using my usual Brownie recipe, I added the zest and juice of One orange to my mixture, to taste. You may want to add more or less. These went down a treat at both dancing and panto rehearsals. Out of all these definitely one to try.

Topshop and Forever 21 Haul

Hello, A couple of weeks ago now I went to London, and you know what its pretty hard not to come back with a few additions for your wardrobe. Naturally I did most of my damage in Topshop, I swear I am one of the main people who purchase there, the addiction is real people.

The Jumpsuit I would like to say is a necessity for my wardrobe, indeed it is. This Friday I am attending the Dereham Theatre Company's Christmas Ball, and for the whole evening I don't want to be dealing with a long fancy dress which I will probably never wear again. I think this jumpsuit is still very pretty and it was in the Black Friday sale, naturally I had to have it.
After 'umming' and 'ahhing' about an item sometimes you just have to get things. Leather/leather look trousers can give a fairly dull look more texture and added edge, something very useful to have in the wardrobe I think.
I wasn't intending to pick up a turtle neck, but I fell in love with the khaki colour against my blonde hair. I could also just imagine how great it would be for layering with a jumper or a checked shirt chucked over the top. Then it was mine.
My Forever 21 purchase, I thought I would get more in here but I felt let down by the selection and was completely uninspired which is unusual as I can always find something I love. Onto my purchase... I love my Strawberry Hat, but one is not always in the mood to wear a Strawberry Hat. This is in my favourite colour for Autumn/Winter, at £3 I couldn't resist it.

Friday's post is going to feature all the lovely Christmas things I saw on my wonders throughout London Town.

Three Favourite Make Up Items | Harriet

Hello! And the prize for the least catchy title goes to...me. But it is what is, so lets jump in.

After being jealous of a certain blogger babe of her dark lips I had to purchase this gorgeous lipstick from Topshop in the shade Wicked! It's a dark plum so sticks to the winter theme, and is great for a dress down or dress up look.
The Hourglass blush has to be one of the best buys ever, after being introduced to Space NK and being persuaded to ditch the bronze for winter I tried out the Hourglass blush in ............ And had to have it! The cool dusky pink tones help me stay away from looking like a blonde barbie.
And last of all is a new addition to my chanel collection which is one of there longwear cream eyeshadows in mirage, this was actually a random present from someone and is perfect as it is a gorgeous bronzy/gold colour which is exactly what I have been searching for, for the party season! So definitely a permanent fixture in my makeup collection!

Hope you enjoyed the post!

December Wishlist

Hello! I know at this time of year I should be thinking about giving, but I am also thinking about what I'd like to have, OOPS. This time of year is my favourite for clothes, there's party wear which I love as I am a sucker for sparkle and knitwear which I cannot help loving.

1. Roll Neck, Turtle Neck, Polo Neck, whatever you call them they are everywhere. And why not imagine the warmth. I feel the cold to an extent which makes me consider whether or not I own a circulation system the only evidence I have is that I'm alive, and that got weird quickly...
2. I tried this on a on a whim, thinking its not going to look nice, I won't want that, I can move on. But damn it, it looks nice, If an event comes up where this would be suitable I might just have to purchase it. Its super flattering and super sparkly. all good stuff.
3. How cute is this bag though? Fur bags seem to be everywhere, and now they come in back pack form, ooh-err.
4. If you've been reading this blog you will know Velvet has an effect on me where it weakens my knees and makes my heart start to sing. I think Jack Wills have been doing these for a few winters now, and they really entice me.
